Description:
This charming vintage nutcracker was handcrafted in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) of Germany, the heart of traditional wooden Christmas art. Dating from around the 1950s, this wooden figure represents a British royal guard in bright red uniform and a tall bearskin hat.
The nutcracker features a functional movable mouth, operated with the traditional lever at the back. Measuring approximately 34 cm (13.4 inches) in height, it's a fine example of mid-century folk craftsmanship.
