Sustainability

Sustainability, Circularity & the Environment

At Ausema, sustainability begins with what already exists.

Antiques and vintage objects are circular by nature. They were made to
last, have already served one or more generations and can continue their
journey for many years to come. By carefully selecting, preserving and
rehoming these objects, we extend their lifespan while keeping existing
materials and craftsmanship in circulation.

Choosing antique and vintage means choosing reuse over new production.
It reduces the need for new raw materials and resources, creates less
waste and helps reduce the impact on nature and the environment. Instead
of replacing what already exists, we believe in preserving quality and
giving well-made objects a new place and purpose.

Circularity also continues throughout our business. Wherever possible,
we reuse clean and suitable boxes, protective materials and other
packaging. Materials that can no longer be reused are separated for
recycling, while the use of new packaging is kept to what is necessary
to ensure that every object reaches its new owner safely.

For us, sustainability is not a trend or a label. It is a natural part
of working with antique and vintage: preserving rather than discarding,
reusing rather than replacing, recycling responsibly, reducing waste and
keeping valuable materials in circulation for as long as possible.

Antique and vintage are made for a circular future — preserving the
past while reducing the impact on the world around us.
