Set of 3 Antique 18th Century Arita Porcelain Plates – Blue and White Japanese Imari – Chrysanthemum & Cracked Ice Pattern

A beautiful and rare set of three 18th-century Japanese Arita porcelain plates, featuring classic underglaze cobalt blue decoration. These fine examples of early Imari ware display the iconic "cracked ice and prunus blossom" border, with elegant central motifs of pine, plum, and bamboo - the Three Friends of Winter (Sho Chiku Bai).

Each plate measures approx. 22 cm in diameter and shows characteristic spur marks on the base - a hallmark of Arita kiln firing techniques. The delicate scalloped rim and soft translucency are typical of the high-quality export porcelain from the Edo period, made for the European market.

One plate has a small rim chip (see photos), otherwise all are in very good antique condition. A wonderful addition to any Japanese ceramics collection or for display in a classic interior.
