Pre-War Colonia Parang, European Forge Titan Steel & Indonesian Craftsmanship, 1880-1940
A rare and character-rich colonial-era parang, combining European forged Titan-marked steel with traditional Indonesian craftsmanship. Produced inlaten 19th untill the early 20th century, this tool represents the fusion of Western steel manufacturing and Southeast Asian jungle-tool design during the colonial period.
The blade features the classic heavy, hooked parang profile — built for cutting bamboo, clearing dense vegetation, and daily field work in the tropical archipelago. The grip is wrapped in natural fibre, with a functional hand-stop and pin to prevent slipping during heavy swings. This is not a tourist piece, but a genuine working tool with historical presence and honest patina from real use.
