French Art Deco Beaded Crystal Pear Chandelier, Circa 1930
An exceptional French Art Deco pear-shaped chandelier dating to circa 1930. This finely handcrafted example features a hand-beaded openwork framework adorned with faceted crystal beads and elongated cut crystal prisms, producing a beautiful and dramatic play of light.
The chandelier retains its original cast bronze canopy, decorative crown, and sculptural chain. The heavy cast fittings display crisp detailing, natural patina, and traditional craftsmanship characteristic of high-quality French lighting from the early 20th century.
Thousands of individually applied glass seed beads wrap the metal framework, while the hand-cut crystal prisms refract the light into elegant reflections, making this chandelier striking when illuminated.
Provenance: Acquired through an anction from the contents of a distinguished residence in ‘Het Gooi', the Netherlands. (queen Beatrix lives and queen Juliana lived in het Gooi)
Condition: Very good antique condition with minor wear consistent with age. Professionally rewired and ready for use.
Dimensions
Height (shade): approx. 75 cm (29.5 in)
Diameter: approx. 30 cm (11.8 in)
