Antique Hüttensteinach Art Nouveau Porcelain Scent Bottle with Dutch Silver Mount, c. 1890-1900

Late 19th-century porcelain scent bottle from Hüttensteinach, Thuringia, Germany, dating to circa 1890-1900.

The rectangular porcelain body is decorated with a distinctive blue and white cellular pattern, combined with red linear motifs and small gilt accents. The bottle is fitted with a hinged Dutch silver mount and cap, marked with the Dutch sword hallmark for silver.

The porcelain factories at Hüttensteinach were active throughout the 19th century. Gebrüder Schoenau became one of the important manufacturers in the area, with early production dating from the late 1880s. The organic cellular decoration of this bottle is characteristic of the transition towards the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period.
