Sterling Silver and Cut Crystal Vanity Ensemble, c. 1900-1930
Elegant vanity ensemble comprising two perfume atomisers, a covered jar and a vase, all fashioned in finely cut crystal with sterling silver mounts.
The pieces originate from different sets but have been carefully assembled to create a cohesive and decorative group. The crystal bodies display a variety of traditional cut patterns, including fan, star and facet cutting, characteristic of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods and the early decades of the twentieth century.
Originally intended for perfumes, powders and other personal toiletry items, such pieces were an essential feature of the well-appointed dressing table.
