Rare and authentic pair of solid brass candlesticks, crafted in Birmingham in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. With their bold geometric lines and symbolic concentric "eyes" on the central knop, these pieces reflect the early Arts and Crafts aesthetic—emphasizing honesty in materials, craftsmanship, and meaningful design. Known as "Good Luck Candlesticks," they were believed to bring protection and fortune to the home.

James Clews and Sons of Manilla Works, 195 Aston Road, Birmingham, furnishing brassfounders were one of the foremost producers of quality candlesticks in the late 19thcentury. To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, they designed a series of candlesticks that were first made in 1897.
