19th-century Frisian wooden school bag with a sliding lid and shaped hanging crest. Traditionally used by schoolchildren to carry a slate, writing materials or small school items. Made of solid wood with a dark painted finish and simple carved decoration on the front. The sliding lid opens to a spacious interior. Dutch folk art. Approx. 50 × 25 × 7 cm. Age-related wear.
