19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Silk Embroidery with Boy and Rabbits

19th century Chinese silk embroidery from the Qing Dynasty, with a finely worked scene of a young boy surrounded by rabbits and flowering branches. The embroidery is executed in coloured silk threads on a silk ground, with detailed facial work, clothing and botanical ornament. The subject of children and rabbits belongs to the traditional Chinese decorative vocabulary associated with family life, fertility and prosperity.

China, second half of the 19th century.

Mounted in a round giltwood frame. Approx. 17 cm diameter including frame.

Good antique condition with age-related wear and slight discolouration to the silk.

Carefully packed and secured shipping.
