17th-century Delft tile, produced around 1640, featuring a beautifully painted parrot perched on a branch. The bird is rendered in green, yellow, and blue, with refined details in its plumage. The tile was most likely made in Harlingen, a Dutch town renowned for the production of Delftware. The corners are decorated with 'ox-head' motifs. This exotic bird reflects the growing interest at the time in rare animals brought to Europe through trade.
